Not sure if I'll get all of my lessons this week, or, if I do, how long they'll be, so decided to do some dictionary skills which will benefit everyone.
I used Tagul to create a selection of word clouds using typical British Christmas food items. These could be used on the IWB as they are, with children using a dictionary to translate the French into English, or, they could be incorporated into a worksheet which already has the English words. Either way, they'll be getting some quiet, focussed time during the frenzy that is Christmas in school.
Since Year 5 have also recently completed a unit on opinions and food, they could go on to both say and write sentences about the food they eat at Christmas.
