Fun ways to tell the time

After lots of number review and then presenting time using a clock face - readily available from the maths cupboard - I began to look for ways to make this more fun. Here are 2 ideas I found or adapted.

Time Ballet
Get the children to stand facing the front of the class. The teacher, or an able child, calls out a time and the children have to use their arms to represent that time.  Demonstrate what it should have been once most are ready.  For those with good balance, you could use a leg for the hour hand.

What's the time Mr Wolf?
I found this idea on the fantastic West Sussex site and extended it.

The children all stand with their chairs behind them, as if they are about to pull them in and sit down.  They then chant 'What time is it Mr Wolf?' in target language and the teacher calls out 'It's ... o'clock.' The children then proceed to stamp out the correct number for the hour they heard.  After a few more goes, the teacher calls out 'Yum yum, it's dinner time' at which point the children need to sit down as quickly as they can.  Last one to sit, comes out to be wolf. (They might need card prompts or whispers in the ear to keep things moving.) I then extended this to include a clap for half-past - so half past ten would be 10 stamps + a clap - , a finger click for quarter past, and a clap plus a finger click for quarter to.

They loved it and asked to play it even when we'd gone beyond just times.
